Initial Coin Offering or ICO’s as they are commonly known are initial coin offerings are similar to an IPO except the owners of the company aren’t giving up a share of their company for your funds.
There are two main trains of thought with ICO’s participate in the hope that when they list on an exchange you will see an increase in the price you paid. Within this camp there are two main plays, sell early and secure the profit or hold long term. The other option is to wait and buy on an exchange after the ICO in the hope that the price dips lower than list price.
Research is critical for any investment and when it comes to ICO’s that advice could not be stressed enough. Some ICO’s have seen a 10%, 100%, 1,000% and even 10,000% return however with so many happening some see them as so speculative they recommend steering well clear of them.
