I never thought when I launched this site that I would be writing a post about Shaquille O’Neal. No the 4 times championship winning basketballer isn’t launching his own coin. He is one of the minority of pro athletes that were as smart with what they earned as they were at playing the sport we knew them for.

According to a 2009 Sports Illustrated article, 78% of National Football League (NFL) players are either bankrupt or are under financial stress within two years of retirement and an estimated 60% of National Basketball Association (NBA) players go bankrupt within five years after leaving their sport.

Writing this while listening to his album respect has me feeling like I’ve time warped to the 90’s and yes if you didn’t know he released multiple music albums.

Google was one of his earliest investments and he now owns multiple franchises across America, among his investment portfolio. How did he know to invest in google, he overheard a conversation. Sometimes it’s about being open to opportunities and pouncing on them when they happen like a loose ball.

I saw this interview in my suggested playlist on youtube and clicked play I’m glad I did. I’m now sharing it with you. What are you doing in your life to stay open to opportunities?

I was talking to the curator of an art gallery when they told me about crypto. You never know where you will hear things, but I know this you need to be listening. If you are doing nothing with your life that is probably why you will be forgotten. Shaq didn’t want to be a forgotten basketballer that was once a great. He wanted to be remembered for so much more.
